Description
This is a traditional Japanese wooden bath bucket made of hinoki, a type of Japanese cypress wood optimal for humid environments such as bathrooms and saunas.
Skilled craftsmen select the best hinoki limbers with straight grain, which are generally stronger than other types of grain. The finishing of the bucket is made manually with the help of a hand plane tool. This process is time-consuming but increases the water resistance and durability of the wood, thus extending the life of wood products.
Hinoki cypress is also anti-bacterial and has a special natural aroma that is enjoyed by many people.
